Elwood is in Box Elder County, Utah, with a population of about 1000 residents. Elwood was officially incorporated as a town in 1933, and a town hall was built in 1983 to host governmental functions, after 50 years of meeting in the old Elwood church. Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Elwood Town Council on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Elwood Town Hall located at 5235 West 8800 North, Elwood, UT 84337.  At the public hearing, comments will be received and consideration will be given to a resolution for approval and adoption of the Elwood Town Wastewater Facilities Plan, which proposes construction of a wastewater collection system and a wastewater treatment plant.  Proposed project features include approximately 7.8 miles of underground sewers, two pump stations, a wastewater treatment facility, and rapid infiltration basins.

 

The Elwood Town Wastewater Facilities Plan is available for review during normal business hours at the Elwood Town Hall.  Send any written comments to Elwood Town, at the above address, prior to the public hearing.  For additional information, contact Gina Marble at 435-257-5518.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO PROPOSE OR AMEND A CAPITAL FACILITIES PLAN AND WRITTEN IMPACT FEE ANALYSIS

FOR TRANSPORTATION (ROADWAYS), PUBLIC SAFETY (LAW ENFORCEMENT), WATER. SEWER, AND PARKS & RECREATION

 

 

ELWOOD TOWN, UTAH

 

Pursuant to Utah Code Ann. §11-36-201(2)(a), §11-36-201(2)(f) and §11-36-201(2)(b), Elwood Town (the “Town”) hereby gives notice that it intends to prepare its capital facilities plan and written impact fee analyses for transportation, public safety, water, sewer, and parks and recreation in connection with the possibility of implementing or amending certain impact fees related to the aforementioned facilities.  The impact fees to be considered will be charged to development activity and used to offset the cost of capital facilities to serve development activity. 

 

The proposed capital facilities will be located town-wide and are necessary and appropriate to maintain the established level of service related to infrastructure for development activity.  These facilities will be evaluated in order to plan for future growth.  It is hereby requested that those recipients wishing to participate in the preparation of the capital facilities plan and written impact fee analyses provide information for the Town to consider in the process of preparing, adopting, implementing or amending the capital facilities plan concerning (i) impacts the facilities proposed in the capital facilities plan may have on “affected entities” as defined by Utah Code Ann. § 11-36-201(2)(b)(i)(A)(I) and (II), and facilities or uses of land that an “affected entity” is planning or considering that may conflict with the facilities proposed in the capital facilities plan.

 

Those receiving this notice and the general public are hereby invited to provide relevant information to the Town in connection with amending or adopting the capital facilities plan and written impact fee analyses.  Those interested in additional information regarding the proposed capital facilities plan and written impact fee analyses are invited to contact the Town’s representative.
